| Re: Cornish fishing Treyarnon Beach: One of the best bass marks in the country, large sandy bay with rock marks either side of the bay, the rock marks fish best but be careful as the tide races in. Constantine Bay and Boobies Beach: Cracking Bass Mark, both big sandy bays Boobies Bay is best fished off the rock at the back of the beach, Constantine can be fished off the beach at all tides. Hawkers Cove: Not many people know about this one, it just inside the Padstow estuary, best fished in Waders, great mark for plugging and spinning, big bass taken from this mark every year, also good chance of a trigger. Padstow Harbour: Busy little harbour but always some space for a little rod with float gear (crabs galore if you fish the bottom) good mark for the kids this one as they can go crabbing if they get bored waiting for the float to dip. I've seen Bass, Bream, Eels and Mullet taken from here using everything from Common limpet to Rag. If you want anymore ideas, I'd get in touch with Padstow Angling Centre, they will give you all the local knowledge, it's owned by Ed Schliffke (The Rockhopper - quite well known in Bass fishing circles) they supply all the baits you'll need, definitely give the Peelers a try they're about the best i've come across, bloody huge and only 75p for the fresh ones! All the marks above are best fished with a Running Ledger, 3oz drilled lead, with 15lb snood, through to either a 4/0 single or 4/0 pennel. I've just come back from my holidays down there, go every year, had some lovely sized Bass, Pollock and my first ever Turbot. All the Best and have a good'un |
