Holiday Time Again

Hi all,

Well it's that time again, another 3 weeks fishing (blanking) in glorious Burton Bradstock.

Yes I am a glutton for punishment, I keep telling myself, never again, but continue to go back year after year. Where else can I camp on a completely flat field within a five minute walk from the beach, glorious views and all for less than £6 a night.

I'll be down on the beach first thing on Thursday morning fishing for my breakfast, 6 Mackerel (what chance) and then trying for the elusive Chesil Bass, I wonder if they exist??. I've never seen anyone catch one yet in all of 26 years. Doggies, Pouting and Mackerel but nothing else. Mind you there is always the little stream where I've had the odd trout or two, nothing spectacular, heaviest just over 2.5lbs.

I thought I'd write this just now in case my time this evening is taken up with last minute, have you put this in - have you checked the water - where did you put the ??? Having said that. it is all good fun and I don't suppose I'd wouldn't want it any other way.

By for now.

Cheers

Drew

Hi all,

Shaun, watch out for the midg es, they will eat you alive. Argyle is famous for them, they say that they are the biggest in Scotland.

Have a great time, I'm sure that you will.

Re: Holiday Time Again

You can't possibly imagine how envious I am of both you guys.

A holiday would be nice, let alone a fishing holiday!

Sean: In my experience, you won't remember which crucial bit of kit you should have packed (but didn't), until you're 40 miles up the road. Just far enough to not be able to go back, but still plenty of time to curse yourself all the way up to Scotland. It's called sods law mate, and I am an expert in it.

Drew: If anyone deserves that fish it's you mate. Maybe this will be the year? If not, then hey, a couple of trout and a few mackerel coupled with some fresh white bread, a glass of wine and some sun shine should make up for it eh?

I hope you both have a cracking time guys. Can't wait for the reports!

Cheers,

Rich.

Re: Holiday Time Again

Drew

Emma & I will be in the West Bay area on Thursday & Friday. We usually fish BB but apart from macky & doggies have caught buggerall of interest lately, so we intended to give Charmouth a go on Thursday evening.

If you get a chance, please come & say hello: we'll be manning the Fleet Air Arm Museum promotion vehicle at West Bay Holiday Park on Thursday and will then be at Britt Valley Camp Site (& West Bay car boot) on Friday.

If you get this message too late but get access to t'interwebby while you're down this way, send me a PM and we might be persuaded to come back to BB.

Happy hols mate
