| So, Messrs Barton, Atfield & Tomes, proud are we? One of the above mentioned managed to land a 7' porbeagle from Poole last week and promptly flogged it to some dealer, who later claimed he was looking forward to supplying local restaurants with "such a delicacy" Link in the Bournemouth Echo I sincerely hope that TSF & Sea Angler will not give these b4st4rds the oxygen of publicity. |

| Re: So, Messrs Barton, Atfield & Tomes, proud are we? I love fishing and fish are there to eat BUT what was the point just for a photo Saying that how many are take on long lines and nobody does anything or cares ![]() Its a hard one as long lines kill WAY more than the odd angler but nothing happens __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

| Re: So, Messrs Barton, Atfield & Tomes, proud are we? I just don't understand the mentality?? Why?? I've just been on hols and had a few trips out on a big game boat......not one single fish was killed. I told the skipper my views before we went out and he assured me he never kills fish for anyone anymore. Good on yer Jens. Cheers Jules. __________________ born to fish....forced to work |

| Re: So, Messrs Barton, Atfield & Tomes, proud are we? Hi all, There is always two sides to a story, before you make any more comments please read this link. http://www.boatfishingreports.com/july062.html This might explain everything. I and many other anglers on this forum take fish for the pot, why not? I cannot see the point of spending £55 on a days charter and putting the fish back. I decide what I want to do with the fish I catch, if they are large enough for a meal for two people I keep them, if not, they go back. I don't keep Smoothhounds, Tope or Rays, these are all returned. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold Secretary of The Blandford Sea Angling Club |

| Re: So, Messrs Barton, Atfield & Tomes, proud are we? I think the guy speaks up for himself well there Drew & gives a good account of what really happened. He clearly knows what he's talking about & it sounds like the whole story was blown up & exagerated by the local paper. It's too easy to jump to the wrong conclusion in these cases. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: So, Messrs Barton, Atfield & Tomes, proud are we? Hi, I along with a few other members of this forum have fished on board Tango Bravo with Steve Porter, and personally I would rate him the best skipper that I have ever fished with. He is 100% professional in all that he undertakes even to the extent of retracking his course when one of the fish I caught slid through a skupper whilst changing marks.
