Another Rod? need help

I fish with zziplex 3500's + mag 525's, great for smallish baits & chucking mackerel feathers a long way but I'm looking for another rod to cast bigger baits (whole squid or crab), the 3500's tend to struggle a bit with bigger baits.
What do you guys out there use?........I've phoned a few tackle shops who have suggested a zziplex Primo Synchro or Vmax2, what about the conoflex Nemesis or Veals Channel Special?

Re: Another Rod? need help

if you like your zippy then go for another one, but with a bit more beef.

i love century and won't use anything else now. i've got a tip tornado match that will cast a whole squid and a 6 oz weight a fair way, but doesn't handle a big bait and over 6oz of lead so well. for big baits and big leads i think a tippy sport would be perfect.

Penn PTT sidewinder - have two

Not a great shore angler but lumping big baits and leads are easy but a 4oz dab will still give a great rattle

Re: Another Rod? need help

what about a zippy 4500?
i find the same as you with my zziplex 3500 so brought a K2 for casting big baits and its great for that but abit too big and bulky compared to the 3500
or you could try a 3500s

Re: Another Rod? need help

I have a 3500s which can handle big baits easily,i m sure a 4500s would do the same.

Re: Another Rod? need help

...have a look at the Century Carbon Metal range, express or BB - personally I have a 15ft BB which is honestly the best rod i've ever held, and i've had a few! Also, I use a Zzipplex Primo Synchro (14ft), which is more forgiving than the BB - but both rods punch large baits a long way...But, to be honest, go along to your tackle dealer and put a Century Carbon Metal in your hands - I guarentee you won't be disappointed..
