| Re: crab/rag juice and irritation Emma always uses latex gloves for baiting up, I never bother. Although I have never had any problem with irritation, when I used to smike, I rolled my own and she still blames peeler crab for causing me a severe stomach upset that led to the opening of the sluice gates at both ends. I still don't wear gloves but I have now stopped smoking. |

| Re: crab/rag juice and irritation My guess would be proteins in the flesh are 'digesting' your skin. Guys I know that worked in packing houses had it from the cattle blood. Rinse your hands well w/Fresh water after touching the bait, maybe? __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! | Re: crab/rag juice and irritation I now have problems with rag, crab and any sort of shellfish. I went fishing (blanking) yesterday and came back itching all over and my head was spinning so much I could hardly drive. This happens every time, the things we do for the love of blanking! I really need to use gloves. Sometimes it gets so bad I holucinate, beats eating mushrooms I suppose. When I used to do loads of shooting I became terribly allergic to rabbits and had to give it up. I still can't go in a pet shop ten years later. Jon __________________ Portland Jon Anyone can catch 'em when they are there. It's catching 'em when they are not there that's the hard part. | Re: crab/rag juice and irritation ragworm blood stings if it gets in cuts, but nothing really bothers me like it does some of you. if you need latex gloves then go into a motor factors and get the non sterile ones, alot of mechanics use them. they should be alot cheaper. |
