| I dont know if its me but I have got really frustrated when trying to buy a rod on the net. I started by checking out the Ad's in Sea Angler and saw a couple of rods I fancied (I want a 14ft- K2, Grauvel or Diawa Longbeam). I went on the net (because it was evening) to make my choice from the Ad's web site. Whoa!! where are the masses of surf rods that they advertised in the mag???? No 14ft Longbeams in 'Glasgow Angling', only one Grauvel in 'Veals' and as for K2's - no chance. Now I am willing to concede that I might be slow on the surfing uptake but hey! the net is supposed to make shopping easier. Ah well! back to the tried and trusted method. |

| Re: Buying rods on the net tell me about it just brought a new rod and reels myself on net i find that if you want carp stuff its ok because you get pics of items and reviews about the gear but as for sea fishing equipment you get very little info plus pics of what you want to buy which i found frustrating myself |

| Re: Buying rods on the net The way I've done it in the past, is to go to a Big store w/a huge selection, spend Hours there looking, feeling the grips, weight, action and all. Decide which I like the best and take the EXACT model number to the web to find a better price. Pi$$ and grumble for a few days, go Back to the store and buy my rod/reel/vest ........Every stink'in time!![]() __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! | Re: Buying rods on the net I am pleased to hear it's not me being a surf dummy!! I get the impression that traders are not too clever about updating their web sites so that they match their mag ad's. Glasgow Angling are running an ad in 'Sea Angler' with enough rods to fill a beach but if you check their web site the long rod range is crap. I need to locate a supplier that has a few long rods for around £100 which seems to be the price range of a mid price rod. Cant spend any more because I just bought my Suveran and the wife is under the bizarre impession that I only need one rod - so why have I got 4 (2 beach 1 boat and one carp rod) Ah women!! bless their hearts!! Tightlines all |
