Tope - Advice Please

Can anyone please let me know if you can catch tope around the Exmouth area - I assume you will probably need to go out quite far ?

Also can anyone please advise what gear I would need apart from fresh makeral for bait - hook sizes, lines, rods etc Do they feed on the bottom or on the top etc ? Do you send out a scent trail ?

Have never been out after the tope so any help would be much appreciated.
