When will people learn! LITTER!

I dont know what is wrong with people! Surley there is not SO many stupid people out there! I was in hastings over the w/end and it was a blazing hot day so there was a load of people on the beach and i saw a group of people packing up there fishing gear and leaving empty bear cans, Food wrapers, BBQ, old skanky newspapers etc. I heard a woman next to me on the promenade tell her husband that fisherman should be banned from beach because they always leave a mess! I told her that we all wasn`t that bad and that a lot of us took our rubbish home with us only for her to point a bit further down the beach at another pile of S*!t that some other lazy B had left behind! I then saw someone gutting Makeral on the beach and just throwing the heads along the beach! These people are giving us a bad name and im affraid that before long anglers will be baned from beaches because of them

Im sure that we all are not guilty of such stupidity but am getting really Peaved of at the ignorance/stupidity of others

If anyone reading this is guilty of the above TAKE YOUR LITTER HOME WITH YOU!!!! THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR LAZINESS!!

Re: When will people learn! LITTER!

well i know what you mean and sadly most of the angler who are leaving rubbish should know better .
i,ve heard other angler blame youngsters then go and leave rubbish themselfs
.i had a discusion on the fens last year with a woman who spoke to me and stated angler leave there rubbish and trebles and should not be allowed to fish here and she had to pay for a set of treble hooks to be removed from her dog
i told her it was unfortunate and people in glass houses should not throw stones this puzzle her and in the defence of the responsible angler i told her well these anglers think the same as you dog walkers i watched you walk up here your dog stopped twice to have a dump and you never cleared it up.
please we are aware of this and most of us will clear our rubbish up and bin it properly and some of us even clear others up .be nice if you dog walkers would take a leaf out of them anglers book.

it sad and this will happen time and time again thing is we as anglers have and few issues from rubbish to cruelty ,and poaching ect ect
yes this minority leaving rubbish does give angling a bad name and it makes me mad too . i,ve taken rubbish from the bank which others have left because the anti,s like to use these against us when ever they get a chance and because i like to fish in nice surrounding and not have to look at the rubbish where i,m fishing .
so i agree total with you there are some idiots out there .

Re: When will people learn! LITTER!

Messy anglers are a real problem, they do it on boats too,but i think i`d rather step on a dog turd than a treble hook anyday !!...

Re: When will people learn! LITTER!

I drove along Southsea common first light the other morning and ive never seen litter like it,The parks and flower beds were covered in rubbish.
People go on about being proud to be English and loving there country and then turn it into a sh%t hole.
Brain dead morons with no respect for anything, SCUM.

Another thing that winds me up while i m ranting is Mcdonalds crap all over, these companys should be held responsable for producing so much packaging and litter.

So its not just anglers that leave litter .

Corr,i feel better for that

that a good point about big companies you would think because this goes on that some one in the company would have said HEY! before we get held responsible for our packaging lets make it biodigradable i reckon there burger boxes should be made from pva so first rain they dissolve just a thought
infact i,m going to go and write to mcdonalds /burger king and suggest it

Great idea Kev(I think the steam from the food would melt the packaging first though), If they don't accept emails there maybe an internal scheme like we have a work. If you call in and have a word with one of the many managers, they will probably get a bonus for such a suggestion!

Re: When will people learn! LITTER!

my local maccy d's as they shut send out a guy to tidy up around the park where they are sited, usually though not always done impecably, at least they make an effort.
it pi**es me off when i see people just chucking there crap on the ground even when they 're next to one of the many bins sited on the park
and its not just the youths that do this either

Re: When will people learn! LITTER!

hhhhmmmmm yes did not think about the steam melting the packaging

any way contact mc donalds uk instead of usa and they do except comment and suggestion from the public when i recieve a reply to my idea,s i,ll post it up ok
thing is they should be held responsible but it would be hard to enforce but around here are local supermarkets can now be fined by the council for clearing up there trolleys so may be so can the big companies
