hi all again please help big problem

first of all i would like to say hi again sorry aint been on for ages havent been online for awhile.
my problem is this last night i was fishing newhaven using a mackrel flapper on a pennel rig i had my rod tip hanging no futher than 2ft over the railings and the night had been slow without as much as a tap on the rod around half one in the morning i heard a scrape of the concrete floor and turned to see my rod bent double being no futher than 6 foot away from the rod i jumped for it but it was too late it shoot of like a missile over the side splash goodbye.
i had'nt set the the drag <<<< IDIOT. please learn from my mistake i heard of it happening to other people but you dont ever expect it to happen to you well now it has and ill certaintly be setting my drag from now on.

my question is this could any of you give us a good site as i now need to get a new 525 mag and a nice rod i was using a daiwa moonraker. but will buy something else.
or i could just start to getting wrecked at the weekends on beer cause if i have anymore sessions like this it seems like a cheaper option lol .
your suggestions on mail order sites will be grately appreciated. cheers

Indeed, that'll be a definite for July. Hiya Darren, long time no see/hear mate, sounds like your season got off to a good start with those carp, I've only had a 14lb'er so far, but like you, I've got an itch for sea fishing again. I'll let Paul know when I'm available in July, it'd be great to meet up again

Cheers
Rob
