| shorham harbour sesh altright chaps, had i nice 15 hour session over on shorham harbour! watched the footy had a few beers and got a lift over for a day and night, high tide 10.17pm! lobbed out a load of lug and got the float rod on the go! had a few livly gar and a mackrel of about a 1, 1/2lb which gave a good spirited fight on the carp rod, a couple of dudes turned up with a contraption that they wher gana youse to bag night time mackrel! basicly a car battery with an 8ft peice of wood and a car head lamp on the end! the mackrel and gar died off as it got dark, had nothing off the bottom either! got to about 12 and i had a wonder down to see this thing in action! i could not beleive my eyes!!!!! the arc of light in front of these two blokes was like looking down on a tank at the sea life centre! absolutly teaming with white bait, with gar zooming in and out like torpedos! with mackrel jumping on the surface smashing into the white bait! and the ocasional yellowy flash of bream! and they wher having a great time picking anything and everything off with a float rod and tiny strips of macky belly!!! stopped for a chat and a bit of banter, and they invited me to join them the more the merrior they said! not being one to look a gift horse in the mouth i shot off for the carp rod! took my seat and a healthy bag of beers down to share with the lads and set about having one of the most hart stopping 2 hours of fun fishing ive had in a very long time! with countless gar,20 mackrel and 2 respectable bream of about 2lb that fought like tigers! at about 2am the action finaly died off! and i headed back to my original peg, not a bite through till about 4.30 and false dawn! when my bass rod doubled over and staid ther and then started thumping up and down, grabed it just as the tip pinged back and i struck into nothing! oh well! as the sun came up i whacked my polaroids on got up on the wall and had a butchers! arfter a bit the mackrel came in and started hitting the bait against the wall! thought id get the dexter on and have a go at a bit of spinning! nothing even tho i could see the shoals come steaming through! managed one, (later i opend it up and found it was full of wot looked like juvenile sand eel of abot a cm and a half) this i think explanes why non wher going to the feathers or spinners on the arm, next time ill make sure i have the hokais in the box! anyway got to about 7am and it was already 20 degrees! so packed up before i started to fry and headed home tied and hungry thinking wot a great way to start my birthday. ![]() __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY! |
