| Re: scotland Fished Stranrear loads of times - don't fish in the harbour though - a 5 - 10 minute drive round the loch (Ryan) to a place called Old House Point and Leffnol (just past the broken pier, which incidentaly holds conger to 30lbs down the side in the dark, but I didnt tell you cos you're not supposed to be on !!!)...anyway, fish this mark over low water for millions of dogs, chance of ray and conger too ..BUT HEED THIS WARNING....TRY AND SET YOUR GEAR A LITTLE BACK FROM THE WATER, BUDDY RODS ETC...AS WHEN THE SEA CATS COME IN AND OUT OF LOCH RYAN THEY CAN CREATE A COUPLE OF BIGGY WAVES WHICH RUN UP THE BEACH, A FEW TIMES ANGLERS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT OUT AND LOST GEAR! It's not so bad in the daylight you can see the wave coming and take precautions, but can be a night mare at night - one minute you're fishing away in lovely flat calm conditions, sea cat passes and 5 minutes later - Bloody hell whats going on - pandemonium!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! |
