| Re: devon cliffs exmouth Hi Rigchukka, I've never fished the holiday camp to be honest, but Ping has so I'll leave that to him. The public swimming pool is just out the other side of town, right on the estuary, and will involve a 10 min drive from the holiday park. Again I've never fished here myself, if I wanted to fish the estaury, I'd head out of Exmouth to a spot in a village called Lympstone. It's about 4 miles out of town. Exmouth has some good fishing off the docks in town and at the extreme opposite end of the beach. However, all of my fishing this winter has been done in the next town up called Budleigh Salterton, either at a spot called Steamer steps (Can't miss it, right behind the high street), next to the cafe on the front just before the hill, or right next to the main car park (Lime kiln). The other spot I've been fishing is the beach at Ladram bay. I haven't fished here for about three weeks now, and there may be a parking issue with the holiday camp which over looks the bay, but is't a good spot for the odd bass, ray and huss. Ping did report that they'd put a second flood light in now which totally lit up the beach and would probably kill the fishing, but I was talking to a guy on Saturday who said he'd had a good ray last week so who knows? Pingu wrote a cracking guide to Budleigh here which you'll probably want to take a look at and there are loads of reports on Ladram and Budleigh on the site. Anyways, I'm sure Ping will give you a bit more detail. Any questions mate, give us a shout. Rich. |

| Re: devon cliffs exmouth cheers for that guys, didnt get to fish any of the beaches in the end as sandy bay which should be renamed sandyseaweed bay was so thick with the stuff i didnt want to risk losing all me end gear and the word from one of the locals was that budliegh was a stoney beach so we gave that a miss as we wanted to take the kids and they wouldnt have had much fun trying to build sandcastles out of stones allthough rumour was that they were catching mackerel of the beach there, but all was not lost as i did manage to get out on a boat for a few hours and hooked up with a few mackerel and a doggie which curved my craving whilst on holiday and the bait that i didnt use wont go to waist as i will take it along with me tonight. __________________ steve |
