| Re: thumb traps never used one myself and don't plan to either.....all i can see is there a piece of equipment designed to make loads of money out of something that is not really needed!! I like to be able to feel the line speed on my thumb so i know i got 100% control over it! if you get some decent quality line on it you shouldn't get many burns to you thumb and once the lines wet your get on fine without one. Good luck mate and I'm sure your get used to your new reel in quick time! Ollie. |

| Re: thumb traps i nick a pair of yellow rubber gloves off my mum and chop off all the fingers, put 1 of them on your thumb for casting and you can still feel but it doesnt slip or burn you __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |

| Re: thumb traps Thats not a bad idea that Ben!! could get a nicer color then yellow though surely!!(pink)lol no honestly it sounds a good idea as it would give you more grip on your rod also when the weather is a bit wet!! nice tip mate! Ollie. |

| Re: thumb traps Hi all/Cockoo, There is one thing that I will suggest, make sure that your knot between your mainline and shockleader is smooth. If your thumb is near the spool when you first cast the knot can cause minor problems. I always drop a little superglue on this knot to smooth it over. | Re: thumb traps think u misunderstood me ollie i dont use the rubber glove, i just use the fingers and put 1 on my thumb that way you get 8 thumb grips for the price of some rubber glloves(thumbs are too big for mine to stay on tightly) using the rubber glove normaly u put the stress on the same bit of the glove every time and it soon wears through, especialy if u mess up a cast __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |
