rocket fuel

Hi all pick up my new reel saturday, abu 650 c3 rocket. Ive been told by my local tackle dealer that i should purchase a little bottle of rocket fuel ! some type of oil,do i really need it ? if so how often does a multiplier need to be oiled?..cheers lee.

To be honest I'm not the best bloke to answer this as Ive never been very good at looking after my reels!! lol But i wouldn't bother putting rocket fuel in it until your completely used to the reel as it speeds it up a great deal and your be losing weight after weight with over runs.....i only use wd40 in my elite and it runs a dream. and thats with only washing it about once a year!! lol

Cheers ollie that was the answer im looking for,scared stiff of it already,and i havent even got it yet, i dont want it running even faster,im looking at slowing it down, but hey i wont use it till sunday and it will be filled with cheap line lol !...cheers lee.

Rocket fuel is great stuff but most anglers only use it cause it speeds there reels up summit chronic!!! lol think its quite pricey to so id stick to the oil you get with it to start with then think about another further down the line when your more confident with the reel.

complete sense ollie, im not going to really know until sunday,till i use it for the first time,but what i can say is the cheap multiplier i brought for first time use i.e £20.00 is far to slow i cant seem to let it go enough for a good cast ,and it makes a horendous noise,but still had only 3 nests in it, hope fully it will all go fine!...

i use 3in1 oil a bit thicker than rocket fuel and works great.
