Re: knives on the beach

do you think a preist would count as an offencive weapon?? cause you could easily kill some1 with 1 if you wanted to

Re: knives on the beach

all knives are ilegal over 3 inches or with a locking blade
i should know as the i allways carry a leatherman and small mag light with when i out and about when i lived in london i use to carry it on my belt in a leather pouch wile working as a dispacth rider i must of been asked by police officers around 5/6 times whats in the pouch wile going about my daily biz
but its only got me taken to court twice where i hadto prove why i was carrying a small leatherman (3in which locked)
part of my defence is i still have the recipt which cost me 80 pounds some years back which my brief shows to the judge
plus i also ask why can you still buy cheap carving knives from pounds shops
but basicly when you are stoped by the police form haveing a knife for fishing allways call it a tool for your fishing explaine how you would use it and you should be ok
unless the officer wants to nick you

Re: knives on the beach

no its all down to the discresstion of the officer at the time if he sees you waveing it around a the bus stop then off course you deserve to be nicked
but if its in your tackle box on the way too or from fishing you can argue that fact in court that you are useing it for its intended purpose that it was made for....
any decent judge who lives in the real world will just throw the case out with full cost awared to you
which has happen to me on two seprate occasions (i carry it on my belt wile rideing my motorbike all the time)
and yes my leatherman has a pliers a small hacksaw screwdrivers wire cuters ect
but the law says that a pointed insturment over 3in is ilegal. or if it has a locking blade
so tecnickley a leatherman is ilegal
so my advice is take your filleting knife with you in your takle box
if you are arested for haveing it in your box get the office to write down your personal belonging you have with you at the time ie 2 rods bait takle ect all writen down seprately in a list then when you go to court you can prove to the judge what you had on you at the time of arrest
which was fishing gear case dismissed
