havent personally got one of those reels but i have heard of the problem from other sources so its not just you!

as for solving it i have no idea but i will scout around for a answer!

nah mate! send it back he is saying a bad design falt? ther falt not yours! (do you have your warranty etc) the thing cost you enuff!
ive always had abu,s and it should be mint!
i think on the whole ther a good quality company
right a letter saying you have yoused ther minting reels forever
and you ar well peed off! etc etc! always bye abu etc!
shame they have let ther quality control slip etc!
never know send it off and you may get a free one and some bits and bobs!

(p,s never had a problem with any abu reel)

the thought had crossed my mind m8 but fitted a new ring and took it out saturday night and all ok so fingers crossed, it would be a shame to send it back as im getting used to casting it now and i also had the bonus of 8 doggies and 12 mackerel on it last night but if it goes again i shall contact abu and try and get it swapped for the mag elite as the mag adjuster seems of a better design.

not had any probs with the sportsmag since and now got used to casting it,so much so i took out two of the mags tonight to see how i get on,i have been offered a chrome rocket with level wind for £35 and im humming and haaing whether to go for it or not as they have the rachet alarm on them and the sports mag doesnt and as i do a lot of night fishing this time of year i thought it might be a bit easeir than having to watch your rod tip for hours on end.any comments on the rockets mate

i have a abu 6500 c3 lovely reel :) onto getting a 7500 c3 or a 7000 now for some tope in the summer
