Bass,Mullet.

Just been for a run along the thin piece of water that connects pompey harbour to the next harbour and as the tide was flooding through large shoals of bass were comming with it.
There was also the odd mullet swimming alone in the shallows.
Its great to see the returning of the summer fish and certainly lifts my spirits.
I m sure there numbers are increasing each year,maybe this is due to the bass nursery areas of which pompey harbour is one.
All we need now is an increase in the min size and things may look rosy as far as Bass are concerned.

Didnt see any bg ones Dan,although i have seen big ones before.
There numbers seem to increase untill about june ish and then they vanish.
The area is full of shore crabs so they may apear for the first moult??
Just need the smuts to turn up now

i bet thats a good sight to see an also as you say its nice to see the numbers increasing aswell

Nice to hear that the Mullet are making their appearance...don't you just love em.....

I have a couple of marks i'm going to try for them again this year and maybe get on one of the Mullet club meets to try and learn about how to catch em.

Early Bass are showing in the Bristol Channel as well, I heard of a 4lber coming to one of the private boats.......hopefully its not just a rumour.

now m8 we have got some bass,skate,dog fish aswell looking good for summer.

yup ive seen large shoals of mullet around torbay another month or so and they will get their heads down and start feeding i cant wait
