| attaching shock leader? any tips on attaching shockleader to my 15lb line on my lil abu? (wot knot) infact any tips on shockleder full stop! never used the stuff as all my sea fishing has been done with an easy 50y lob off the beach or peir, boat!. | Re: attaching shock leader? try the bimenni twist can be found in a sea angler last year, what month i cant remember .you want a min of 60 lb shock leader .if you can get hold of the sea angler video they do that knot on it hope this will help. ![]() |

I use the same not as you Kev. As for the amount of leader my general rule is two rod lengths and four or five turns on the reel. As for tapered leaders, I have yet to find a brand with good knot strength and believe me, i've just about tried them all. Hope this helps. If using a multi reel, make sure the knot is tied to the left or right of the spool as the leader knot can make a right ole' mess of you thumb when the spool is released.
