| Anyone got any advice on how to prepare Black Lug for freezing. I know you have to gut them, but do you just squeeze the guts out or cut them open? __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: Black Lug i personally get the worms, then bang the worms on the floor til they explode. then roll in 10s and put them in the fridge for a few hours. then re- wrap them neatly, if the paper is not reasonably damp i splash a small amount of water on them. i found that dry newspaper made them stick to the paper and absord the moisture (juices). |

| Re: Black Lug I salt down my lug! just use cooking salt (about 80p a kilo from a supermarket) get an ice cream tub then put a flat layer of your lug in. Then put an inch of salt on top of the worms then another layer of lug and so on..... just dont be tight with the salt, it can be used again anyway!!! Leave in the salt for a week to ten days, then you can freeze or just store in a cool dry place!they will shrink but once you cast them out they re-hydrate nicely! Hey presto you have a lovely bait with lovely guts and all!!! They work a treat too, never liked the idea of having a few bits of skin on my hook! This way you get a nice tuff casting bait with guts n all! |

| LOL Any particular technique for banging them on the floor. All sounds a bit violent to me!!! Quote:
