| Thought that you might be interested in this new device that’s undergoing sea trials on a fishing boat at Portland. It’s an Anti-Gravity Drive (AGD) that was developed by the American military for their new generation vertical takeoff fighter aircraft & assult landing craft. Until recently this was top secret. The principle is very simple. It’s basically a high power electro-magnet that has the opposite polarity to the earths magnetic field. It has the same effect as when two magnets of opposing poles are held together & they naturally repel each other. The Americans were unable to perfect the stability of their invention, resulting in regular crashes & capsizes. The problem was solved by professor Olof Prial of Brunel University Bristol, who came up with the solution of fitting a gyroscopic stabiliser. Professor Prial came up with this idea whilst watching his grandson, Olof Prial junior, playing with his toy spinning top. The AGD is the answer to many a boat owners prayer, allowing boats to be launched at low water or from cliff tops & high jettys without the need for a slipway. It has also proven ideal for fishing over previously unfishable rocky ground. An unexpected benefit has been discovered in that the magnetic field created by the AGD has been found to attract fish & drive them into a feeding frenzy. ![]() AGDs are totally environmentally friendly. A single 15w solar panel can generate enough lift to elevate a 7 tonne boat to a height of 28 metres. Also, due to the reduced friction on the boats hull, it is claimed that fuel costs can be reduced by up to 80 percent. They will be commercially available from the 1st April this year & are being produced by Lipfarool Marine Ltd of Weymouth. The cost of a fully fitted version for a 17ft – 20ft boat is expected to be in the region of £2500 - £3000. There is currently a dispute between the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) & the British Maritime Agency as to whether a Boat fitted with an AGD should be classified as an aircraft or boat. Currently the CAA are stipulating that parachutes should be carried as well as lifejackets if fare paying passengers are carried. Hopefully this issue will be resolved in the near future. Further details of the AGD can be obtained by sending a PM to Richard (Fishing Forum Admin) who is a major shareholder & consultant for the company. Anyone wishing to experience this amazing scientific breakthrough should also book a place on Charter Skippers new boat, that will be replacing the Lady Helen later this year as his boat will be the first charter boat in the UK to be fitted with an AGD. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |
