| I have done some snorkeling at Durdle Door myself. I go around the rock thats about 50m offshore in the bay on the left as you go down the path to the beach. I've seen good mullet, Bass & Wrasse & loads of spider crabs . I understand that Durdle Door is good for Conger fishing at night but have never fished there mainly because of the long walk. Did see a lot of Glow worms at the campsite on top of the cliffs when we camped there though which was interesting. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: durdel door If anywhere ever looked fishy then Durdle Door is the place. The cove to the left is called Man O War bay. There is a camp site nearby so the only hard part is getting back up the cliff. Jon __________________ Portland Jon Anyone can catch 'em when they are there. | Re: durdel door i fished durdle door back in the late 90s in an international event i was pegged next to jim dobie who proceeded to kick my butt catching in excess of 30kg of wrasse we were pegged over to the far left hand side and in front of him was a deep kelp filled hole about 50-60 yds out that was where all the fish were congregated.approx 5-15yds out is a gully that u will find contains numerous small fish wrasse, rocklings, and young pollock/coalfish.etc and the odd sizeable fish.but as i say the far left was where the numbers of goodfish came from the pegs further left produced odd fish that was all ( the only reason we fished it was we where blown of chesil) |
