live baiting for bass

i have seen that live baiting for bass can be quite productive. what rigs are best? and what is the best way to hook the live bait being used so that it stays alive for longer and promotes optimal hooking capability? cheers all

Re: live baiting for bass

Straight running leger is best, lead on a link swivel.Trace needs to be anything between 4 and 8 foot, use a 2/0 treble and lip hook the mackerel to keep it alive the longest.....

Re: live baiting for bass

if you're fishing from the shore then you can use sort of a hair rig with a big hook at the top then a small hook with a small worm on it. small fish eats the worm, hooks it's self (stays alive longer than being caught, hooked, cast out), then big bass eats terified little fish.
