| Spider Crabs as Bait In the summer we get loads of spider crabs here on Portland, I snorkel for them and get loads. I usually give them to my mother in law who cooks them but what about using them for bait? I know that they would be an absolute pain to break open but there's a lot of meat in them so it would be worth it if they were useful for fishing. Has anyone ever tried using them? | Re: Spider Crabs as Bait Spider crabs are a great bait when the smuts are in and not that hard to peel if you collect them at the right time....but as been said they don't freeze that well so what i normally do is collect enough for a session or two and what i don't use on the first i'll peel and just keep them in the fridge to keep them a bit fresher! |
