Thumbs up shrink tube stop not!

making some rigs earlier i found id run out of crimps or even power gum
to make stop knots for 2 hook flapper!
had a rummage round my carp gear and found some rubber shrink tubing
i found if you cut this into a few mils lenghth slide the bit up the rig body
(in this case 40lb mono) and double it back through and tighten it, makes a perfect stopper! and think the rubber wont damage the line like a crimp an can be adjusted easily! a few metres of shrink tube and 1000s of stoppers with no wast! im defo using this from now on as float stops,u name it! tho using it on a straight through running ledger might be pushing it! and found even using it on the hook to prevent bait sliding over the hook point may be a goer!
have i discovered somthing new? or teaching gran to suck eggs?

Re: shrink tube stop not!

Not really new, I use small 1/8" latex tube, works gr8. but its nice to find alternate stuff in a pinch.

Re: shrink tube stop not!

You could still put up a drawing/diagram for everyone to see.
ps. be Sure not to cross the line (overhand knot) inside the tube before you pull it...its a Pain in the @$$ to fix.
