| Shads for Casting I am wondering if anyone has any experience using the vast range of shads and artificial rubber lures for bassing from the shore. | Re: Shads for Casting Hi John. Shads work quite well in the Autumn of Chesil beach especially in the cove. For some reason they don't seem to work too well around the Island and the harbour is too shallow to use them. Eddystone Eels can be really good for Pollock. I have had a lot all around the Island on them but little success with the Bass from the shore. However the Mackerel coloured Eddystones are deadly for Bass in the Autumn. Rapala's are expensive but you do get what you pay for.
