Travel Rods, what do you recommend??

Hi All,

I've been travelling a fair bit and normally take with me a Shimano 6 piece carbon rod. Got to say it did the job well spinning for trout etc but when it came to spinning in the sea it wasn't really the right tool for the job. Looking to go away again this year and wondered if anyone could recommend a good all round travel rod?? Do you think a 5/6 piece is better than a telescopic?? Looking to be catching Barracuda or Snapper etc etc and it has to be a travel rod, the Mrs is fed up with me carting rod tubes everywhere!!!!

Cheers!

Thumbs up Re: Travel Rods, what do you recommend??

I,ve just bought a Veals Mike Ladle 4SureSpin 10' 4 peice spinning rod 15 - 50grms casting weight. It's a beautifully finished rod that comes with a quality travel case. £59.95 from Veals mail order. It had a really good review in both Sea Angler & Total sea Fishing magazines. Not had a chance to use it yet, but hope to put that right this Friday . Will let you know how I get on.

Thumbs up Re: Travel Rods, what do you recommend??

I used the new rod on Sunday for a bit of pike plugging & it performed faultlessly. Casts like a dream & very responsive when playing a fish. I felt totally in control.
