I fish with telescoping rods on freshwater, and they are pretty good, but I can't recommend any models since I don't have enough familiarty with what's out there. The only problem that I have noticed with telescopers is that sometimes where the friction fit to elongate, they get llose easier than regular two piece rods, and sometimes they end up sliding off centre and need to be readjusted so everything is line up proper.
