Re: what would it cost me 2 get me out.

Hi Jazzy,

It is not the cost of buying the boat that is the problem, it is the cost maintaining it.

Yearly insurance is about £500 or thereabouts, maintaining the engine on an old boat can be expensive as can transporting it or berthing it.

For your money, £1500, you can go out on deep sea charters about 35 times and have no thoughts about any other costs.

Have a good think about it before spending hard saved money on something that you might regret later.

Cheers

Drew

Re: what would it cost me 2 get me out.

Hi Jazzy.

Drew is right in what he is saying about costs. I used to have an Arvor 25. The amount I spent on berthing and other costsment that I could have had a trip out on a CHarter boat every single week. However the huge advantage of having your own boat is that you can go out when you want and come home when you want. I often woudl just nip out for a couple of hours on an evening or a Sunday morning. It would keep the missus happy and I could also fish for whatever species I wanted. I also did'nt have to worry about trying to find a place on a Charter Boat. Most of the Weymouth fleet are booked months in advance.
