Thumb Cannon - not exactly going bang! Thought i'd try a thumb cannon with a fixed spool reel, can't for the life of me get the line to stop slipping through it when casting - rather makes the cannon redundant - has anybody has this problem, and can anybody recommend a solution? ![]()

Re: Thumb Cannon - not exactly going bang! OK so it's clear from the responses that I am now regarded as something of a soft handed poofter! Yes I do work in an office, but that doesn't mean i some kind of willy woofter, I should warn you all I'm pretty handy with a stapler and operate a mean calculator! Not sure that i like the idea of wearing a "casting glove" that's all a bit too "let's play golf" for me, so I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy a multiplier (apparently the tool of real mean, eh Pirate!). Right that decided, I'm off to the local truck stop to start a fight and drink my mug of tea without letting it cool down!

Re: Thumb Cannon - not exactly going bang! only time i did anything was one really cold night , when did seem to twang finger a bit, put some elastoplast (fabric type)along casting finger and that sorted it, maybe try that __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives

Re: Thumb Cannon - not exactly going bang! *psssst - Tony* I know what you on about, but don't let on that I said this okay? I have suffered what I call "the twang" before, and I'm sure it's down to my frankly appalling casting style. I've toyed with the idea of electrical insulating tape, or as Pingu says a plaster, but I think I'd rather deal with a little pain/discomfort rather than be ridiculed on the beach. Oh and I work in an office too, and as I have to keep pointing out to my mates, those paper cuts can be bl**dy deadly at times. I've seen one nearly take a woman’s arm off.... *ahem* * You ain't seen me alright. I was never here. * On second thoughts, if any of you guys see me on the beach with a plaster on my index finger, that'd be down to the tip being taken off by the alligator I was wrestling last week.... Rich.

Re: Thumb Cannon - not exactly going bang! i managed to slice a 20p sized bit of flesh off the end of my finger casting once, that slowed me down abit __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's
