Bait Collecting Bans...digging etc..

Hi Everyone,

I'm doing a bit of research at the moment, and, could any of you guys please tell me of any rulings in your particular area, that prohibit you from collecting bait (excluding trespassing to get to areas and private land etc), that have been imposed by local authorities, also S.S.S.I. sites.

Also, please tell me how long they've been in place, and if any anglers have been cautioned/prosecuted/arrested etc. I don't want any names please, they shall remain annonymous!

I know theres a ban on crabbing in top of exe estuary will go and read sign fully to get all details for you, excuse for pint in Turfs Lock as well

There don't seem to be any problem at Bridlington S-Beach, the lads where digin' for worm without any problems from what l saw. Also the off shore fishin' has gone very quiet just now. ( Went on Wed.)

im sure it wont be a prob if you dont get caught
prob best not to try it at any SSSI's or generaly any conservation places though

Don't think there's any bans on my area of the Severn Estuary (Newport area) but wouldn't risk the mud anyway besides I'm far too lazy and buy all my baits from the tackle shop!

went to top exe estuary, the sign that was there over winter has gone
but used to say no crab collection fron starcross yaught club up to countess wear nature reserve
again wouldnt want to try due to mud
can collect in all other areas(although most crab sites "owned") and digging ok on exemouth side

i have seen quite afew people digging around me and they all seem like friendly guys so im sure if you found 1 up your way and asked they would be happy to help, well they have all been friendly apart from 1 guy, o well
