Re: Hard time ahead

I have caught more new species this month than I thought I would have done. It has given me a chance to try different areas and to finaly have a go at a few stretches of river.

Re: Hard time ahead

all though i posted on this post all ready and stated i will be fishing hard till the end off the season , this will not change but what will and has started too is that i have started to invite the odd person to come with me due to that it very hard to go out time and time again on your own and every now and then it give you the lift you need when you just go out a have a social fish if you know what i mean. it a great buzz for me to see some one else catch either there first zed or just a zed and this gives me the inspiration to carry on to the end of the season cause i ,m not going to say its easy to push myself cause it ain,t and any body who is trying to achieve a pb will also know its not ,and after a long hard and quite chilly winter it is very hard for this lasst few weeks to keep focus

Re: Hard time ahead

i don't really want to go out just to catch the odd rockling. but then the weekend comes back round and out i go again. i just can't stop my self from getting a line wet.

as for match fishing i like the tough matches. you do struggle and don't catch alot but it forces you scratch and push the boundries. fishing as light as pos and making the bait presentation as neat as pos. when the fish come back you can use this info and it will land you a couple more fish.

Re: Hard time ahead

sit, chill, clean out box of old bait and tangled line (chopping up into bits before dumping) and dumped gear, fishout anything i can youse
like beads swivels etc, im tight like that! strip reels, clean stuff! anything missing check up!
research on tactics and making this year better than the last!
best of all making rigs, tidying up, dreaming of the pb and talking about fishing over a pint!
still might give it a sling in the week just for the bits!
failing that ill go commercial and get a few carp
