| Blokes, (and unblokes) When I'm down in Warmwell next month, 11 to 18, where should I go for a cast? I'm a fly fisherman and will have the "Maggot Drowner" with me. Unfortunately he's no expert at the sea side of things either. We'd like a pier or something similar. But if we'd do alright off a beach then we'd give it a shot. Not too keen on walking for miles carrying all this stuff. We've got beach casters and big spinning rods, weights and rigs and stuff. Just need a venue. Oh and where to buy worms would help. We'd quite like to have a shot off a boat too, but don't have that kind of kit. Any help given would be appreciated. Many thanks Regards Malc ![]() __________________ "Now is the winter of our discontent Made glorious summer by this son of York;" |

| Re: Where in Warmwell Hi Malc. Do you meen Warmwell near Weymouth? If you do then you can fish from the Stone Pier in Weymouth where they are catching Flounder and small Pollock at the moment. Chesil Beach is not fishing very well at the moment. All that is being caught there are Pollock, Dogfish and loads of Pout. My mate "claimed" he had a 25lb Conger from the oil tanks two nights ago. January often produces Conger from the clean groand of Chesil. Portland is fishing very well for big Ballan Wrasse but you will lose a lot of tackle. You can get worm from Dennings Tackle on Portland Road (great if you are heading for Portland or Chesil) or Weymouth Angling Centre. Don't buy them from Reels and Deals, they are not good. If you want further info about parking or a more up to date report just PM me. __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk |
