Talking Re: Favourite fishing moment of 2005

My favourite fishing moment was catching my first ever Grayling on the River Dove. After trying for 5 straight days and only managing to catch brown trout (not that I'm complaining, they provided great sport) I finally hooked and landed one on virtually my last cast. And it fought harder than any of the trout.

Re: Favourite fishing moment of 2005

would have to be my first 20+ pike, caught about a month ago.

and in the sea i guess my first boat trip was pretty good, didn't catch much but had great fun catching the sandeel and joeys on carp gear. and managed 3 dogs on one hook and one live sandeel, not that exciting but a bit strange.

the best thing about every year is the different people you meet when your fishing and the banter you have with your fishing buddies. no other sport/ hobbie like it.

Re: Favourite fishing moment of 2005

Hi all and Merry Christmas,

I have only just returned to fishing since August time, after many years away from the sport.

One of the reasons for my return to the activity is now my children have grown up and wanted to start fishing.

So my Hi-lights have been standing on Dungeness Beach at the 'Point' whilst they have each hooked their very first fish, and remembering back to when I first started fishing some while ago .

Though what would finish the year off would be to catch a Cod or Codling any size . As so far it has seemed to have escaped their notice that I have been casting a baited hook just for them out to sea, the Whiting, Pouting, Dabs and Dogfish keep thinking it is for them .

Have a good one
Pheonix

Cheers Ollie. Nice to meet and have a beer with you too mate. All my best moments have been the meets - Dungeness, Chesil, Tamar Lakes, Selsea, Pagham, North Lake. All brilliant! Regardless of the fish caught (or not), great times spent with top blokes. Roll on 2006

Rob
