Devon Peelers??

Hi All, been a while since i was here last, cod season comming and all.....

Does anyone know where to get hold of live peelers in Plymouth. All the usual spots only seem to carry frozen these days and I'm fed up of trying to thread a ball of mush on a hook.

Not had a good few months of bait buying recently, the shops here seem to be going down hill rapidly, booked bait in a few places for a trip only to be told it wasn't available when i went to pick up.

So, if anyone knows of a private dealer for crabs i would be eternally grateful, may even have to resort to setting my own traps soon!!!

try looking in the fishing mags or the net for mail order bait companies. you'll have to buy in hundreds though. so you'll have to keep them alive and hold them up or freeze them you're self.

frozen crabs from the shops are a nightmare. i've bought some in the past that were meant to be local peelers but were deffo not from this country and they just fell apart.

collect your own in the summer and freeze them yourself when they're in tip top condition.
