| Hello I went to Gran Can in June this year to a place just west of Puerto Rico. The coast line is very rocky in general. I spent a lot of time snorkelling in the coves and saw what was on offer to catch. Basically you are looking at shoals of small barracuda, mullet and garfish mid water with a variety of small wrasse lower down. You do not need a licence, but in most marinas there are areas that are no fishing. When walking around the marinas you will see the mullet and barracuda along with shoals of very small bait fish. There are also fish that look very similar to our bass, which are very predatory. I took tackle with me for spinning and float fishing but by the end of my holiday I sussed that for the best fishing you really needed to use live bait. Basically, take some size 16 - 18 hooks along and catch some 2-3 inch bait fish in the marinas using tiny bits of bread. Then put one on a small treble underneath a float pike style. Fish quite deep. Dusk time the bass and barras are on a feeding frenzy. Chuck some chopped fish and bread around your live bait as ground bait and you will be in! Best of luck. KKYum |

| Sounds great to me. Wished I'd been smart enough to snorkel in Menorca like you did in Gran Can. As long as you're confident it'd save a lot of time. ![]() |

![]() I've been to Fuertoventura, which is part of the Canaries, fished every day, all day, caught all sorts of oddities. Only got pestered by members of the "Master Race" asking 'Ow many haff you caught? No sign of Bailiffs though. You could ask in a fishing tackle shop. There's bound to be one.
