Re: advice about fishing dover piers

hello mate, there is only one pier you can use with your blue badge, that is the prince of wales pier, this is quite a nice comfy pier inside the harbour with a very welcoming caff on the end of it.
the fishing can be very good at this time of year,it has a reputation of being an excellent venue for whiting in the autumn and a few codling can turn up as well.the flatties are almost always there.
i'm not sure if you can just drive on there with your blue badge,i seem to remember that you have to give dover harbour board a ring,i think they used to give out some sort of permit or letter of authorisation.it would be advisable to give them a ring anyway.
best of luck mate,if you have any other queries dont be afraid to ask.

Re: advice about fishing dover piers

there's a intercom system at the entrance, say your disabled and prob no problem. maybe ring firdt though.

fish the slope for the big flatties (plaice to over 4lb), the very end near the cafe and cast to the breakwater for codling. there's alot of tide over high water even though it's in the harbour, up to 6 oz grip leads are sometimes required.
