Re: isle of wight

hi ben your best bet is to look at the I.O.W. web site, but I would have thought Bembridge would be a good area.

Re: isle of wight

camping and fires varies loads
here they dont seem to mind
but more built up areas get a bit peeed
how you find local bylaws is usually by very small board somewhere near a car park
helpfull or what

Re: isle of wight

Just be sensible!!!

If you're building a fire, I presume it's for cooking?..as it is June, and the weather is quite warm and mild, so no need to build a big, raging thing, but why not go into a camping shop and have a look at the range of stoves on offer, much easier to cook on than a fire, you never have to go looking for wood etc.

Coleman do a great stove, which runs on unleaded petrol, just like the lamps they produce. Nice and easy to get up and running, clean, no smoke, and friendly to the atmosphere, what more could an angler want when cooking on the beach??

Re: isle of wight

i have a little stove
i think its a german army 1, got a meths burner with pot and everything which packs down really small and everything
i know what you mean about fires but we are planning on trying to catch some mackerel and eat them for a meal and i dont think it would be too easy cooking them on a cmap stove
we were thinking maybe just get some disposible BBQs rather than a fire and were gonna try to stay clear of the busy toristy parts
