Re: Fishing this weekend

Bad day all round yesterday. Chesil blanked out. Not many people catching fish at all and no points scored by anyone fishing the match!

Just got off the phone to our club secretary and he told me one of our club members lost his rod and reel to a shark at about 9pm. His gear took off down the beach with tripod in tow... Porbeagle surfaced about 100 metres out to sea. Rod tip then floated up and an enterprising club member cast out and managed to retrieved it. Local fisherman estimated the shark at about 300lb.

So there you have it, club rankings haven't changed but a little bit of excitment was had.

Re: Fishing this weekend

Too many Steve. Andy lost 3 hooks and I lost 2.

Anyone have any thoughts on using braid as hook snoods? Has anyone ever tried it? It must be more robust than mono when these nasty little spiders get to work.
