| Hello all, we are planning to do a sea fishing trip to the Andamans where you get really big GT's (Giant Trevallys). Has anyone fished for them before and keeping in mind their line breaking fame whats the best line and hook size for them? PS Was planning on using 80lb braid with 4/0, 5/0 trebles and homemade poppers. |

| Re: Trevally worries Found pix of 4 or 5 types of Trevally. Pretty, silvery and big. They dont appear to have teeth, are their mouths hard? Maybe you should consider using stranded wire leader like we use for Northern Pike (a toothy monster, jokingly called "gaters" sometimes.) good luck and tight lines ![]() __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! | Re: Trevally worries Hi I just found an interesting site on Trevally fishing..... just check out www.gtfishing.com . Look like they are major fish, with huge teeth that smash lures. I think its a good fish to contend with for anyone who considers him/herself a worthy angler. |
