Re: Grauvel Teklon Low Diameter Line

Well the biggest thing to look for whilst shore fishing is the diameter of the fishing line. A cheap line normally has a high diameter compared to a more costly one.

My favour line is
Diawa Tournament line ( 15lb ) - Nice and thin and the line runs very well off the spool and through the rings. It is more expensive at about £9.00 for 1000m but you will get two to three spools out of it and lets just face it that about 9 peeler crab which we will happly buy just for one fishing trip

Hope the Grauvel Teklon is good as it cost the same but you only get 300m , which went on my penn mag only filled it up 3/4 of the way

Re: Grauvel Teklon Low Diameter Line

Use Daiwa Sensor all the time on the boat,18lb test doesn`t kink ,knot strength is brilliant as is abrasion resistance, and when the enevitable birdy happens does not tie itself into a million knots around the spool either. Also use Ultima Red ice for the shockleader 50lb its bright red, easy to see when playing a fish and helps you steer clear or other anglers lines . Red is one of the colours in the spectrum thats becomes more or less invisable in water below a couple of meters,so does not spook fish in clear water.

Re: Grauvell Teklon Gold Low Diameter Line

I've started using Daiwa Tournament on Richard's recommendation and now wouldn't think about buying anything else. 1000m £8.99 = go get some

Re: Grauvell Teklon Gold Low Diameter Line

Well went over the field for a quick 30mins and must say the old Grauvell Teklon Gold does cast very well ( in my limited skill level )

Just have to be careful when killing the cast as 17lb at only 0.25mm can half burn the old thumb if you do it half hearted

( he types whilst sucking his burnt thumb )

Re: Grauvell Teklon Gold Low Diameter Line

wont hurt so much with wet line,
use a rubber glove finger for that reason and to help me grip more on powerfull casts
