Reel Up or Reel Down???

Hi fellas,

I've been contemplating improving my casting, so I can gain those few "Extra" yards.

I normally fish "Reel Up" but feel maybe changing to "Reel Down" may give added inertia. So I'm gonna hit the casting field soon.

How do you guys cast "Reel UP" or "Reel Down" and do you think it makes a difference.

always used to fish up, but then i got my zziplex with the reel down and it is soooooooooooo much better in my opinion
you get more controll and the rod is much better balanced

Are we talking about casting or fishing ? I always cast with my reel facing down - dont make any difference either way to me !!!

How do you cast then - I usually fish with my rod reel facing down.

he means up or down on the rod, either the reel right at the very bottom of the rod or aout 1m up the rod

Flypin heck at times I wander about myself being that dim !! I use my reel up the rod but if it will help with distance Ill try is further down the rod.

Been fishing reel down for the last couple of years mate and what a diferance it makes to the cast and retrieving of the lead if i was you mate id try give it ago,

Fishing reel down does'nt feel comfortable to me. I prefer reel up.

I am going to try and fish reel down for a while to see how i get on with it.

i always fish with the reel up mr.t. aint never tried it down !!

I prefer reel up. It's more natural. I add weight and "push off" to get more distance.
