ABU 6500 C3 CT Elite

I,ve Just been given an ABU 6500 C3 CT Elite (Blue Model) & 13ft ABU Zoom rod.
Unfortunately there is no instruction book with the reel. I have only had previous experience using fixed spool reels & no nothing about this model or beachcasting multipliers. I believe it may have magnetic brakes & interchangeable brake blocks. But I have no idea how to set it up etc. Can anybody give me any advice on this model. Or doe's anyone have a handbook that they would be kind enough to scan & email to me please?

You`ll need to take the side plate off to see how many if any brake blocks are fitted.If you`ve not used a multiplier before would be good idea to fit 2 larger blocks to start with.The mag brake works off the sliding black lever on the left side of the reel,the scale shows the amount of magnetic brake assistance,again start with this fully forward,and gradually back it of as you get more confident.When you`re upto speed with it you can vary the mag brake mid cast to smooth out over runs.

HI GREENHEART. I HAVE HAD ONE OF THESE REELS FOR A FEW YEARS AND ITS GREAT. IT HAS CENTRIFUGAL BRAKE BLOCKS BUT NO MAG BRAKING (YOU DONT NEED IT). TO TUNE THE REEL YOU NEED TO CLEAN OUT THE BEARINGS WITH LIGHTER FUEL AND RE-OIL, IF YOUR NEW TO THIS TYPE OF REEL USE RED ROCKET FUEL AND BOTH BLOCKS. FOR A DETAILED EXPLANATION ON TUNING THIS TYPE OF REEL YOU WILL FIND ALL THE INFO ON VEALS WEBSITE. ONCE YOU HAVE TUNED IT PROPERLY YOU SHOULDNOT HAVE A PROBLEM, ITS A GREAT REEL AND CASTS A LONG LONG WAY.

the rod and reel you have there are cool i would get the reel serviced at your local tackle shop with red rocket fuel the rod if quite a good one once you have mastered the rod and reel
go and have fun and catch a few
