Jersey sea fishing???

Hi all.

Maybe having a holiday over in Jersey soon, and was wondering if it was worth taking beachcasters.

It would probaly be around June or July time, maybe August...

What would I be likely too catch?

Would I be better off taking carp rod, and using feathers, spinners, float fishing etc..

Any help greatly appreciated

Fishing from the shores is fantastic. Good bass fishing,wrass from any of the beaches at the sides where all the rocks are.Add a bit of flash to the rag worm.You should catch a fish every 2 min's.St Catherins breakwater is 3/4 mile out.you can catch Mackrel with a lead and feathers by the bucket full.Normal 12' beach rod and carp rod ok.If the shores were this good over here i would never go fresh water fishing again.You'd be a fool not to take a rod there.

Let me know if you go, there's 3 tackle shops that i know of and some good spots to fish.

Yes Dan, Wellyfish used to live over there and did a lot of Bass fishing, so he will definately be able to help.

hia the fishing is exelent in Jersey when i went all i took was a spinning rod and loads of terminal tackle and i caught loads of fish.
if u want 2 bottom on a spinning rod just get a small bomb weight and batter it flat with a sledge so it doesent roll around, I did this and caught some hauge Bream.

Do you think I'd be alright just taking a carp rod?

I could then use that for spinning, float fishing, feathering and light beach work legering with a small bomb???
