Re: Diawa sl30sh

Brill reels but you gorra have biggish hands to get a tidy grip of the spool whilst casting, i'd ask someone if they would lend you one for a couple of chucks before you buy.

Hello just a suggestion but if i were u id think about getting the AbuGarcia6500cs ROCKET or a simmilar reel as they are a bit smaller and are perfect for allround fishing especially on rough ground and fishin for hussies and stuff. I use mine on my 12ft beach caster and it is perfect.

hope this help's POPLO

Re: Diawa sl30sh

hey luke the sl30sh is a meaty reel to say the least! Daiwa have attempted to keep the weight down by building the reel from carbon graphite material but because the reel was designed to be 'heavy duty' there is a great big clamp attached to the bottom of the reel seat - this means that the reel stands very high from the blank of the rod.
the sl30sh is favourite with conger anglers from the shore. it is also more than capable of general uptiding from the boat.
its perfect for rough ground fishing and is a better casting reel than its nearest size rival the abu 7000. sells for about £90 new so if its goin cheap i would say go for it!

Re: Diawa sl30sh

GREAT REEL....
Had mine for about 10 years now and still looks great, The sl30sh is great for rock fishing and just awesome for uptiding. You can pick a half descent one up for about £50-£60.
Go for it.
