Filleting Knives Hi Folks, I've had a look through the old threads for something on filleting knives, I can't find anything. Having seen an expert filleting fish on Saturday, I have decided to purchase myself a decent filleting knife. There are lots of them about but what one would you recommend. I don't want to spend my money on rubbish, I don't mind paying out for something decent. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold Secretary of The Blandford Sea Angling Club

Re: Filleting Knives I bought a Marttiini (that is the way they spell it) filleting knife some years back and i must confess it's the best knife i've ever used. A bit on the pricey side but a brilliant piece of clobber all the same. __________________ Never answer the phone when your doing the ironing.

Re: Filleting Knives For actual filleting I was disappointed by the filleting knives I bought so I carry a 'Kitchen Devils' knife in my tackle box. Very sharp and does the job. FishyPaul can confirm this, he's used it to gut fish Rob

Re: Filleting Knives I bought a plastic handled Normark about 10 years ago, it's excellent apart from some rust type stains and a bit of corrosion on the brass handle ends. I found that because the blade is very flexible it could be a bit difficult to sharpen until I bought one of those diamond sharpeners, they are great and very quick to use, I like a knife to be as sharp as possible. The sheath comes up more than half way on the handle which means it never falls out and is also hard lined so it won't stab me if I fall on it. Hope this helps __________________ Blessed are the Cheese Makers......

| Re: Filleting Knives Normark are tops but I couldnt find any less than forty odd quid. My own choice last time was a Rapala and Im very happy with it.
