| Re: Filleting Knives Hi Folks, My new knife was well tested yesterday. I filleted six large Pollock to 14lbs and it was a dream to use and worth every penny that I spent. Compared to my old boning knife this was luxurious, I know that it was brand new and razor sharp and that time will tell, but I can assure those that don't use a proper filleting knife it is worth getting one. Once again thank you all for your views and to John Marshal for his instructions on filleting. Even my wife was impressed. I have a Skian Dubh that I use when addressing the Haggis at Burns Suppers and other Scottish evenings, unfortunately it is a wee bit on the small side for filleting fish. Awe-ra-best. Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold Secretary of The Blandford Sea Angling Club |

| Re: Filleting Knives moi nice to see that you like Finnish knives (marttiini, rapala), but in Finland was big test of filleting knives and it depend what kind of fish you are filleting, but there was 3-4 very good knives: swibo, sanelli, and some Swiss, but i dont remember the name, and little rapala.I'll use swibo and sanelli, swibo have very hard blade and sanelli little easyer to sharp and it's better for hand, it's not slippery, swibo have many differant modells, so thats why I have 2-3 knives with me when I'll go fishing jokke |
