| Re: Never Thought I'd Say This..!!! AndyG, The flattie rods are very well made but to be honest I think they would suit the boat better rather than casting from the shore. At only 10 1/2ft I found that when casting the rod didnt have quite enough power to launch the bait as far as I would have liked. Having said that I was useing a 4oz watch lead so maybe I should try again with the correct setup.I almost wish now that I stayed with the BASS rod which was a bit more powerful. | Re: Never Thought I'd Say This..!!! You'll never get all your gear in it mate! I'm gonna experiment with it a bit, may take it on me next boat trip. I was chucking a 3oz lead with it on Sunday and it went like a bullet - I just felt the reel was a bit heavy for the rod.
