| Repair Kit Hi Folks, We all carry bits and pieces with us in our tackle boxes; what do you carry in the way of spares etc. for rod and reel repairs, or any other items for repairing broken kit? | Re: Repair Kit As a boat angler I will admit to carrying spare rods and reels rather than a specific repair kit for them. Have you some specific ideas in mind? |

| Re: Repair Kit Hi Duncan, As mainly a charter fisherman I always carry three rods with me, two 12 - 30's and my 20 - 50 i.e. if I am drifting and anchoring. I take three reels with two spare spools filled with braid, and a spare reel of braid, just in case! I realise that this is not a repair kit, there is a limit on what you can repair whilst boat fishing, hence the reason for carrying replacements. I always have a tube of super glue, the stuff that always sticks your fingers and nothing else. I normally have PVC tape, a stick of general purpose glue and a cigarette lighter. I also carry a spare rod tip for one of my rods. My reason for asking was mainly to see what other anglers do when accidents happen. In the last few years I have broken two rod tips and a couple of rings. Luckily I was well prepared. | i never carry spares or repair kits with me as i never have had the need for them, however if something does happen to some of my gear i have adequate stuff to adapt to the change, then i carry on fishing and sort out the problem when i get home. ![]() __________________ -Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. -Hard work has a future payoff. | Re: Repair Kit sounds nasty, did you get it past the barb, if so did you have it cut out or did you just give it a yank? __________________ -Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. -Hard work has a future payoff.
