Re: Spinning ?

You probably haven't seen one Poplo.
A 2grm spinner would be the size of a 5p piece.
I haven't done much spinning but the ones I have got are 18,25 and 28 grms and I don't have any trouble casting.

Question Re: Spinning ?

does anyone use a trace on their spinners or does everyone just tie it straight to the mainline?

Re: Spinning ?

CHUBB
I make up a rig using 15lb line and slide a couple of luminous beads on before attatching a swivel, then clip it onto my shock leader.

Re: Spinning ?

The beauty of lure fishing is it's versatility. Also contrary to popular belief you can use lures in most if not all conditions, reason being. lures work on two levels sight and vibration.

I have caught out of the Teign and around the estuary mouth when it has been very coloured.

You select your lure to suit the conditions, this is where the problem lies, you need a reasonable selection to make it work.

Because lure fishing is not the first choice method for most anglers they tend to carry two or three favourites lures, once they have exhausted their selection they give up.

Theres no getting away from the fact It can be quite costly to a mass a good selection of lures, I have good selection as I enjoy lure fishing, as it's just a case of grabbing your lure bag & rod and going, also it requires little to no preparation.

The fun that can be had lure fishing on light gear is bordering on exhilarating, especially watching a bow wave and fin following your lure on a calm summer evening, theres nothing like it especially now we have such good quality braids it makes it even more fun.

Talking Re: Spinning ?

went this evening to berry head and bunged my fave spinner on my bass rod and soon found a nice bend in my rod as a 1lb 1oz macky lunged at my spinner, not that big but not bad for the first macky of the new season, going on first proper spinning trip of the season tomorow, weather dependant, so it is osd's law that it will tip it down!
