| Dogfish I am a member of TSAS, and a number of members refer to Dogfish as ‘Vermin’!! When im out fishing, I am pleased with whatever I catch, but sometimes I do get fed up with the dreaded dogfish, everywhere you go, no matter what bait, there they are!! I was just wondering, do you get fed up with dogfish and think they are vermin of the sea, or are you just happy catching!! __________________ Nothing grows faster than a fish from when it bites until it gets away. |

| Re: Dogfish There is nothing wrong with dog fish. You will nearly always catch one when you go fishing. No matter what he species all fish should be treated the same. If it wasnt for the humble dog fish i would have caught nothing on a days fishing. tj |

| Re: Dogfish last night i took it as a challenge to get through the pouting to get one took a while but suceeded, they are quite pretty fish really and if was a comp man know would target __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |

| Re: Dogfish I think that is the reason why people call them vermin. Fishing alot of comps, i know it is the easiest fish to catch with the smallest specimen rating. so i would rather target a dogfish. But other people target the bigger fish like bass, ray, and a 2lb dogfish would beat a 7lb bass. It sounds stupid but on this point i can see where they are coming from. I also think dogfish are quite a pretty fish, but when one wraps round your wrist im normally cursing them. __________________ Nothing grows faster than a fish from when it bites until it gets away. |

| Re: Dogfish I'd love to catch them, never caught 1 and we don't get plagued with them here, bit of a rarity and people usually target them, squid head is the best bait at the moment apparently. Quote:

| Re: Dogfish ive even caught dogfish on the barbel rod, nothing more than a dead weight with the odd nod of the head. with regards to the nettin of the eels, they are sorting the boats out so it will be anytime soon, and the price has gone up to £5(i think) __________________ Nothing grows faster than a fish from when it bites until it gets away. |

| Re: Dogfish A bit of ‘love & hate’ going on here. When there are different species of fish around, the last thing I wanna catch is a doggie but I can tell ya, get a dog toward the end of a fruitless session and they become the bees. I wouldn’t class dogfish as vermin. __________________ Kia ora / Dia dhuit. - Matauranga kei ana kaha.
